Some ‘old’ music was recently reissued by the Belgian Stroom label on vinyl LP.

It’s entitled PASSED BEYOND and covers music made in this life between 1982-1989.

Quietly pleased at how it has all been handled by the label, the artwork and how it sounds

It’s available to buy/hear:

Also promotion for the album (with music not on the album) was on NTS Radio:

Thank you to Sarah Pearson for writing this review of a workshop I ran in March 2017 for the good ladies of Tarporley W.I. who threw themselves into it with gusto and asked many questions at the end.
Thank you for the cakes too!

Jazzalina Garcia and myself (The Sound of Now) have been invited back to King Edward Street Chapel, Macclesfield to offer something new for the next Fruits of The Spirit event on 3rd November 2017. 7.30pm start.
Our offering will be entirely different from our previous collaboration. We will be incorporating Tibetan singing bowls, 28" wind gong, chimes, kalimba, bells, flute, hand pan,  as well as Jazzalina's be-you-tiful voice, alongside sound files and the use of effects pedals and visuals from Dave Thompson, to create another unique sound journey.

UPDATE:
Rehearsals have begun and we are very pleased and excited at what is being created through us.
UPDATE 2:
The video footage of The Sound of Now performance of "Elemental Sound Journey" is now available to view of YouTube. enjoy!

I recently collaborated with my dear friend Jazzalina Garcia, as The Sound of Now: a musical venture utilising Jazz's unique voice and using a sound looper pedal, and myself of electric/amplified zither.
Our first performance was at King Edward Street Chapel, Macclesfield on 23rd June 2017, as part of the Fruits of The Spirits event.
We are planning on working on new material and offering this at events, festivals or whoever would like us to perform.
Here are some images taken at Macclesfield and a video from the performance.
Many thanks to Dave Thompson for live VJ-ing and video production.

Also deep thanks to my teacher Laraaji for offering his words on seeing the video footage:

Haloha - My name is Veerji Hasyananda.

This name was conferred to me by my teacher Laraaji Nadabrahmananda (Google Laraaji for information and videos of his music and laughter) in September 2016.

I began teaching Laraaji’s method of Laughter Yoga/Meditation in February 2015 after a period of distance learning and study (Laraaji lives in New York). Since then I have been able to spend time with him each year as he has toured the UK with his music and laughter workshops (twice in 2016). My studies continue with him as in the guru–shishya tradition.

The workshops I run offer an holistic approach explaining the physiological aspects of the healing nature of our own joy-filled laughter!

The 2 hour+ workshops show you ways of how to tap into your own spontaneous, healing laughter to help stimulate your endocrine system, boost your immune system, increase lung capacity and expand your own sense of well-being.

Moving into the 'Play Zone' we allow our body expression to unfold, perhaps even allowing our inner child to appear, and become one with our new, deeper and opening laughter expression.

This is followed by a gentle sound healing meditation, joyful call and response singing (The Happy Feet song) and closing Om circle.

All of this is vibrational work.

As vibrational creatures we have the ability to tap into the energy centres of our bodies (the Chakra centres) and help recalibrate and reharmonize these areas and allow the body to be in balance, in ease. Not in dis-ease.

Laughter is also of great benefit for stress and in particular Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or those who have experienced a traumatic event or who deal with anxiety, guilt or frozen grief, among other conditions, by helping people to move forward and think or talk about their traumatic event with absolutely no emotional distress, and flip a past emotional memory into a memory of an emotion. The boost in endorphins from the increased laughter and smiles, the increased intake in air into the lungs and oxygen into the blood-stream has been proven to re-wire the brains responsive patterns to stressful memories or situations, allowing us to cope in a more balanced way.
